The Department of Nutritional Sciences, Government College Women University Faisalabad, organized an industrial study tour to Dawn Factory Faisalabad for BS (HND) students to enhance practical learning and professional exposure. The visit was led by Dr. Madiha Ilyas (Head of Department, Nutritional Sciences), accompanied by faculty members Ms. Fatima Rafique, Ms. Amna Saleem, and Ms. Nadia Afzal. The main objective of the visit was to provide students with industrial exposure, enabling them to understand nutrient preservation during food production and to observe how nutritional quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance are maintained from raw material handling to final product packaging. During the visit, students gained firsthand knowledge of food production units, quality control mechanisms, and hygiene and safety standards implemented at the facility. The visit proved instrumental in strengthening students understanding of industrial practices aligned with their academic curriculum in Nutritional Sciences. Subsequently, a meeting was held between Dr. Madiha Ilyas and Mr. Muhammad Javed Yousuf, CEO of Dawn Factory Faisalabad, to discuss potential avenues for academia???industry collaboration. Discussion was focused on establishing long-term academic industry linkage, including internships, hands-on training, and project-based learning opportunities for students. Mr. Muhammad Javed Yousuf appreciated the departments proactive engagement and expressed his strong commitment to fostering continued collaboration, acknowledging the mutual benefits of strengthening ties between industry and academia. This initiative reflects the departments commitment to producing industry-ready graduates by effectively bridging classroom learning with real-world industrial experience in the field of Nutritional Sciences.
