Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Head of the Department of Nutritional Sciences, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), participated as a keynote panelist at the seminar, on Obesity and Physical Fitness organized by the Standing Health Committee of the Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI) and the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on 7th April 2026 under the convenorship of Dr. Najma Afzal Khan, Chairperson Standing Health Committee/Ombudsperson Punjab. During the expert panel discussion, Dr. Madiha shared insightful views on the rising prevalence of obesity, its associated health risks, and evidence-based strategies for prevention and management. She particularly emphasized the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy dietary practices, regular physical activity, and long-term lifestyle modifications in addressing obesity and promoting overall well-being. The seminar was also graced by Mr. Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, President of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI); Mrs. Shahida Aftab, President of the Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI); and Ms. Rubina Amjad, Founder President of FWCCI. The seminar brought together health professionals, academicians, industry representatives, and members of the community to raise awareness about the importance of physical fitness and healthy living. An awareness walk was also organized as part of the event to reinforce the message of adopting healthier lifestyles. The event successfully highlighted the urgent need to address obesity as a public health concern and encouraged collaborative efforts to build a healthier society. At the end of the seminar, souvenirs and certificates were distributed among the speakers and participants in recognition of their valuable contributions and participation. Dr. Najma Afzal Khan and Dr. Rubina Amjad appreciated the valuable contributions of the speakers for creating awareness about obesity and the importance of physical fitness.
