Webinar on '||chr(34)||'Media Literacy in the Digital Age'||chr(34)||' Held at GCWUFÚFaisalabad () — Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organized a webinar titled '||chr(34)||'Media Literacy in the Digital Age: Awareness, Ethics and Action'||chr(34)||', aimed at educating youth on how to recognize and counter misinformation, fake news, and digital scams.ÚThe keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Sawera Shami, Chairperson of the Department of Digital Media at the University of the Punjab, emphasized that digital literacy involves more than just technical skills. She emphasized the importance of verifying content before sharing, acting responsibly, and understanding the mechanisms of media, including agenda setting, news framing, and the spread of misinformation.ÚVice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), in her concluding remarks, emphasized that digital literacy is essential in today’s media landscape. She warned that fake news and online impersonation pose serious risks to both individuals and institutions, making awareness and vigilance more crucial than ever.ÚThe webinar promoted responsible media use and strengthened digital awareness among students.
