Earth Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on April 22, 2025, in the Department of Geography. We are grateful to the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), for her permission to conduct this event. The Pro Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Zille-I-Huma Nazli, inaugurates the Geographic Project Display event. The objectives of this event to spread awareness about environmental issues by digital maps because geospatial tools help us visualize the impact of climate change, deforestation, urban growth, and natural disasters across the globe while platforms like Google Earth, Arc GIS, and Remote Sensing tools allow us to explore endangered ecosystems, track pollution, and even witness reforestation efforts in real-time. These maps not only educate but also inspire action by making environmental issues visible. As geographers, we can harness the power of digital mapping to promote a data-driven perspective of our planet’s health. Students displayed different maps based on geographic themes. All the students presented their geographic work, and Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Coordinator of Science and Technology, appreciated the projects and provided suggestions regarding their work. The Earth Day celebration in the Geography Department was a successful event under the supervision of Dr. Mubarra Noreen.
