On April 30, 2025, the Department of Urdu at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organized a one-day international seminar titled '||chr(34)||'The Role of Sufi Saints in Pakistani Literature.'||chr(34)||' The seminar featured renowned scholars including Prof. Dr. Taqi Abedi (Canada), Prof. Dr. Saleem Mazhar (DG, National Language Promotion Department), Prof. Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafique (Director, Iqbal Academy Lahore), Dr. Rabia Sarfraz (Head, Urdu Department, GCUF), and Dr. Majid Mushtaq (Assistant Professor, GCUF), who explored the literary, spiritual, and cultural legacy of Sufi saints. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) served as Patron-in-Chief and emphasized the relevance of Sufi teachings in promoting peace and moral values in society. Dr. Sadaf Naqvi, Head of the Urdu Department and chief organizer, welcomed the guests, while Dr. Rukhsana Baloch delivered the vote of thanks. Shields and souvenirs were presented to the distinguished guests, and the seminar saw active participation from Urdu faculty and students.
