GCWUF Organizes Seminar on Ending Digital Gender-Based Violence Against Women and GirlsÚFAISALABAD, December 10, 2025 — Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organized a seminar titled “United to End Digital Gender-Based Violence Against All Women and Girls” in collaboration with the Women Protection Centre Faisalabad, as part of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign.ÚÚVice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), Chief Guest of the event, reaffirmed the university’s commitment to ensuring safe physical and digital environments for women. She emphasized the need for digital awareness, rights education, and responsible online engagement for female students.ÚÚSpeakers from the Women Protection Centre, including Mrs. Kanwal Shahzadi, Mrs. Sanam Zahra, ex-MPA Mrs. Najma Afzal, and Mr. Zahid Ali Shaker, briefed participants on cyber harassment, online blackmailing, data misuse, cyberstalking, and legal protections under Pakistan’s cybercrime laws. Dr. Sadaf Naqvi, Incharge WDMC, highlighted the psychological and academic impact of digital violence on women.ÚÚFaculty members and students participated actively, and awareness materials were distributed to promote digital safety and encourage reporting of online violations.
