GCWUF Holds Fourth Mentoring Session on Challenges in Higher Education�Faisalabad, February 24, 2025 – The fourth mentoring session of the Women Empowerment and Mentoring Program (WEMP) at GCWUF focused on the challenges faced by academic leaders, particularly women, in higher education. Titled “Challenges in Higher Education,” the session featured insights from mentors Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Dr. Asia Rauf, and Dr. Hira Munir.��Dr. Hira Munir introduced the session, followed by Dr. Asia Rauf outlining its objectives. A poll engaged participants before Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli discussed internal and external barriers in academia. A key focus was diversity and inclusion, highlighting cultural competence, leadership representation, and gender biases in Pakistan’s higher education sector.Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen commended the mentors for their knowledge-sharing, contributing her own insights. Dr. Sadaf Naqvi, Incharge Women Development and Mentoring Centre, acknowledged the support of HEC and NAHE in advancing women’s leadership.�The session concluded with actionable strategies for fostering a more inclusive academic environment, leaving attendees with valuable guidance for navigating the evolving landscape of higher education.
