The Directorate of Quality Enhancement Cell, GCWUF successfully arranged One Day Training Session on Undergraduate Education Policy-2023 with the title ???Bridging the Gap: Associate Degrees, Lateral Entry, and Exit Routes in Higher Education??? in Video Conference room on Friday 27 09-2024. Dr. Salma Shahid Assistant Professor/Director Academic Department of Biochemistry GCWUF briefed on this training to all HoDs regarding the implementation of Undergraduate Education Policy (UEP 2023) in the university. The object of this training was to impart knowledge to redesign the curricula according to Undergraduate Education Policy 2023. The structure of Associate Degrees and lateral entry in BS/equivalent programme discussed in detail in order to implement as per the new enforced HEC Policy. She also briefed the policy item related to Exit from four-year degree programmes in the form of Associate Degree under certain circumstances. The participants understood the new framework, requirements and structure of all undergraduate degree programs. The Undergraduate Education Policy (UEP 2023) had been framed according to the National Education Policy. Dr. Salma Shahid shared the primary objective of Undergraduate Education Policy to promote education success, applied knowledge, balance between breadth and depth. She discussed the General education requirements of new UEP comprise of Art and Humanities, Natural Science, Social Science, Expository Writing, Quantitative Reasoning and entrepreneurship and community engagements. She also emphasized that all departments would implement and merge the new Undergraduate Education Policy (UEP 2023) in their scheme of studies in true letter and spirit. She ended with the advice that all department should study the National Qualification framework and start ADP programs after taking all necessary measures. At the end of this training Dr. Aasma Khalid Director QEC thanked to Dr. Salma Shahid for her briefed and impactful shared knowledge.
