The Department of Mathematics, GCWUF organized a workshop entitled Research Data Management & Applications of Semi-Analytical and Numerical Methods. The main objective of the workshop was to showcase the findings of the recent research done by renowned mathematical professionals hailing from various parts of Pakistan. Large number of students, faculty members and chairpersons of other departments of GCWUF participated in the workshop. The workshop began with the recitation of Holy Quran followed by praise of Porphet Muhammad(PBUH). After that, Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Convener/Chairperson Department of Mathematics welcomed the participants. She declared it a need of the time to organize such type of workshops which may compel our students to divert them to a research culture. Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Coordinator, Faculty of Science & Technology addressed the gathering and appreciated the efforts of Mathematics department for organizing this informative workshop. Mr. Asif Malik, Registrar, GCWUF graced the event with his valuable remarks on behalf of the Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq (T.I). Certificates and shields were distributed to the honorable guests and faculty members. Resource Persons of the event were Prof. Dr. Imran Siddique, Dr. Saima Rasheed and Dr. Syed Ali Mardan Azmi. After the tea break, technical session started with the talk of Prof. Dr. Imran Siddique from the University of Management and Technology Lahore. He presented his work entitled Coating of Pseudoplastic Fluid in Reverse Roll-Coating: A theoretical Analysis. He explained the applications of Mathematics in coating processes. After him Dr. Saima Rasheed from Govt. College University, Faisalabad guided students about how to select problem for reseach work. She also gave talk on the topic Access of Research Data and Its Management. Dr. Syed Ali Mardan Azmi from the University of Management and Technology Lahore enlightened the students on different numerical methods useful for analysis during research. He also presented his research work entitled First Order Parallel Algorithm for Two Dimensional Heat Equation. Students took great interest in this interactive session and asked quite interesting questions. Administrative Heads, Chairpersons/Incharges appreciated the efforts of the convener Prof. Dr. Saima Akram and congratulated her on successful completion of the workshop. Group photos captured the smiling faces of bright students of Mathematics Departments. The workshop ended on a vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Coordinator, Faculty of Science & Technology.
