The Mathematics Department of GCWUF inaugurated three new societies on 5th jan 2023 aimed at promoting youth development, the performing arts, and social welfare. The grand ceremony was held at the corridor of BS block on the 5th of Jan, 2023. The event was inaugurated by the Chairperson of the department Dr. Saima Akram who explained that the establishment of these societies will provide a platform for students to foster their talents and engage in a variety of social activities. The Mathematics Youth Development Society (MYDS) aims to help students develop their skills and personalities through social, educational, and recreational programs. These include educational seminars, workshops, and field trips to different places. The Mathematics Dramatics & Literary Society (MDLS) aims to provide students with opportunities to showcase their acting, directing, and producing talents. The society will host theatre performances, drama competitions, and other events to promote dramatic arts among its members. The Mathematics Welfare Society (MWS) Society will work towards the betterment of the underprivileged sections of society, organizing various charity events and welfare activities. The society aims to make a positive difference in the lives of the poor and destitute by providing them with food, shelter, education, and healthcare. The event was well attended by both faculty members and students. The students who were the driving force behind the establishment of these societies welcomed the support and enthusiasm shown by department authorities and the student body. The inauguration of the mathematics Youth Development, Dramatic, and Welfare Societies celebrates the commitment of maths department towards the development of its students and society at large. The hope is that these societies will encourage more students to participate in extracurricular activities and contribute meaningfully to the community.
