The Department of Mathematics at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) successfully organized a poster competition on December 2, 2024, centered on the theme ???Mathematics for a Sustainable Future.??? The event aimed to underscore the pivotal role of mathematics in advancing sustainability across various domains. Six universities from Faisalabad actively participated in the competition, including GC University Faisalabad, Riphah International University Faisalabad Campus, National Textile University Faisalabad, University of Education Faisalabad Campus, and Govt. College Women University Faisalabad. The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naate Rasool-e-Maqbool (SAW). Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Chairperson of the Mathematics Department at GCWUF, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the transformative role of mathematics in fostering a sustainable future and the growing significance of Artificial Intelligence in mathematical applications. Following this, Prof. Dr. Zil-i-Huma Nazli, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Coordinator of Science and Technology at GCWUF, praised the Mathematics Department for this initiative and applauded the efforts of all participating universities. The competition was evaluated by an esteemed and impartial panel of judges comprising Dr. Ayesha Younus (Chairperson, Physics Department, GCWUF), Dr.Amna Saleem (Assistant Director Colleges, Faisalabad), and Ms. Asma Sajid (Chair, Industry & Academia Linkages, IEEE Faisalabad Subsection). Special care was taken in selecting judges to ensure transparency and fairness, as none of them were affiliated with the mathematics departments of the competing universities. The top three positions were awarded as follows: ??? 1st Place: Kamran Arshad (M.Phil. Mathematics, 2nd Semester, GCUF) ??? 2nd Place: Haseeba Maqsood (M.Phil. Mathematics, 1st Semester, GCWUF) ??? 3rd Place: Sania Shafiq (Riphah International University Faisalabad) The winners received cash prizes of Rs. 7,000, Rs. 5,000, and Rs. 3,000, respectively, along with appreciation certificates. All participants were also acknowledged with certificates of participation. The presence of the Honorable Vice Chancellor of GCWUF, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz), added prestige to the event. In her concluding remarks, she commended the Mathematics Department for hosting a meaningful and impactful event. She distributed shields among the judges, interacted with the winners and participants, and encouraged them to continue excelling in their academic endeavors. Her inspiring words and active engagement reflected her unwavering commitment to promoting academic excellence and innovation at GCWUF.
