Department of Nutritional Sciences Faculty Development Training was organized by the Department of Nutritional Sciences, from 5th to 7th July, 2022 at GCWUF. The first session by Ms. Nadia Arshad, SEO Content writer, covered Freelancing/ Content Writing in Nutrition. She described the importance and techniques of Freelancing that allows workers to successfully grow their own business and earn with minimal resources. She explained requirements of freelancing e.g., Time-Management, Client Networking and Financial Planning. Faculty members learned to make profiles on different freelancing services like Fiverr and Upwork. In the second session, Dr. Syeda Samina Tahira, Coordinator Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences was the guest speaker. she discussed techniques of Classroom Management that can help a teacher provide a meaningful learning environment to her students. In the third session Dr. Riffat Sadiq, HOD Department of Applied Psychology addressed the participants on the topic of Stress Management at Workplace. She stated that work-related stress is a growing concern around the world. Asper research Every fourth employee is found in extreme pressure in the workplace that hampers his productivity and motivation. Stress management at work leads to better health outcomes. Protecting oneself from stress can lower the rate of chronic diseases. She described various techniques such as meditation, deep breathing exercises, and mindfulness that can help to relieve stress. At the end of the session, Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Incharge, Department of Nutritional Sciences, concluded the session with the vote of thanks. Coordinator, Faculty of Science and Technology, Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli also joined the session and appreciated the efforts of the faculty to get in line with the vision of worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq about growth of the faculty in terms of developing critical and technical skills while using prevalent teaching methodologies.
