The Department of Nutritional Sciences initiated the services of Nutrition Counselling Centre, which was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq (T.I), Worthy Vice Chancellor, GCWUF accompanied by Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Pro-Vice Chancellor, GCWUF, Ms. Suneeza Hamid, Incharge IT, faculty members and students. The main goal of the Nutrition Counselling Centre is to offer medical nutrition therapy to promote wellness and disease prevention through dietary changes and also provide guidance for the right kind of diet required for the management of chronic diseases. The Nutrition Counseling Center offers personalized counseling sessions to address each client???s specific needs to optimize health and well-being. The Nutrition Counseling Center is offering high quality nutrition services by meeting the needs and expectations of clients, and providing health promotion in the community. Services included: i) Nutritional Assessment (Weight, Height, BMI, Vital Signs, Bone Mineral Density, Body Fat, Body water content, Muscles percentage, Hemoglobin level, blood sugar level, Complete Blood Count, Renal Function Tests and Liver Function Tests) ii) Diet planning iii) Nutrition Counselling for the management of diseases i.e. Obesity, Overweight, Diabetes Mellitus, Cardiovascular Disorders, Anemia, Arthritis, G I Tract Disorders, Kidney and Liver diseases. Furthermore, it will play a prominent role in research and education and also will be an income generating program for the University. Worthy Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Department and Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Incharge, Department of Nutritional Sciences for initiation of services in a very professional manner to improve health and well-being of the individuals.
