The Department of Nutritional Sciences at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organized a Nutrition Education and Awareness Session at Shiblee College for Women, Madina Town on 20th December, 2024 under the guidance of Dr. Madiha Ilyas, HOD, Nutritional Sciences. The outreach activity was linked to the Sustainable Development Goals-III & IV i.e. ???Good health and Wellbeing??? and ???Quality Education???. The session aimed to promote healthy eating habits and increase nutrition awareness among female students. Three faculty members, Ms. Maheen, Ms. Hijab, and Ms. Amna Saleem from the Department of Nutritional Sciences accompanied the students. The students of BS (HND) 5th semester delivered informative lectures on various topics, including healthy eating guidelines, bone and reproductive health, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). They emphasized the importance of a balanced diet for overall health, particularly for maintaining strong bones, and discussed the role of nutrition in reproductive health. In addition, the students described the symptoms and management strategies for PCOS, stressing the importance of early diagnosis and lifestyle modifications. The students organized an assessment camp alongside the lectures to evaluate participants' nutritional status and provide personalized guidance. This initiative aimed to promote healthier practices and raise awareness about the significance of nutrition in daily life. At the end of the session, a short Q&A session was conducted and informative brochures were also distributed to the students. The principal of the Institute commended the efforts of the Department of Nutritional Sciences for their valuable contribution to the event.
