The Department of Nutritional Sciences conducted its 4th Board of Studies meeting on September 12, 2023, in the Committee Room. The session was presided over by Coordinator Science & Technology and HOD, Dr. Madiha Ilyas and attended by prominent professionals, including Dr. Muhammad Umair Arshad, the Director of Industrial Linkages and Chairman of the Department of Food Science at GCUF; Dr. Zia-ud-Din, Chairman and Associate Professor from the Department of Human Nutrition at The University of Agriculture, Peshawar; and Dr. Habib Aslam Gaba, a distinguished Consultant Cardiologist. The agenda of the meeting, presented by Ms. Saman Zahid, centered on a comprehensive review and upgradation of the department's curriculum. The key focus was aligning the scheme of studies with the Higher Education Commission's (HEC) Undergraduate Education Policy 2023. This policy aims to modernize and standardize undergraduate education, enhancing the quality and relevance of academic programs. The updated curriculum incorporates innovative approaches to learning, ensuring it meets contemporary educational standards and addresses emerging trends in nutritional sciences. These changes are set to be implemented in the Fall 2023 semester. The contributions of the esteemed board members underscored the commitment to maintaining academic excellence and fostering a forward-thinking educational environment within the department.
