Faisalabad, August 2025: A high-impact seminar titled ???Nourishing Across the Ages??? was jointly organized by the Standing Health Committee of the Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FWCCI) and the Department of Nutritional Sciences, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) at the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI). The seminar aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG-3): Good Health and Well-being, and aimed to raise awareness about nutrition at all life stages, especially for women. Opening the event, Ms. Shahida Aftab, President FWCCI, welcomed participants and highlighted the critical need for nutritional literacy among women across all age groups. She expressed gratitude to the guest speakers and praised the collaborative efforts in hosting this meaningful session. Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Head of the Department of Nutritional Sciences at GCWUF, delivered the keynote address focusing on the unique nutritional needs of women above 30 years of age. Her talk emphasized the role of diet in managing age-related health challenges such as osteoporosis, obesity, and type 2 diabetes, and stressed the importance of micronutrient adequacy and lifestyle adjustments in achieving healthy aging. Ms. Nizwa Itrat, Lecturer at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF), offered valuable insights into the nutritional requirements from infancy to young adulthood. She outlined the essential role of nutrients such as protein, iron, calcium, and vitamin D in supporting growth, development, and long-term health outcomes, while promoting early adoption of healthy eating habits. Dr. Najma Afzal Khan, Chairperson, FWCCI Health Committee, delivered the vote of thanks, reaffirming FWCCI???s commitment to nutrition advocacy and preventive health. She appreciated the academic institutions' role in advancing community health and called for increased investments in nutrition-focused initiatives. The event concluded with a community awareness walk and the presentation of certificates and shields by the FCCI President, Mr. Rehan Naseem Bharara to honor the guest speakers. In parallel, students from GCWUF???s Nutritional Sciences Department conducted a Nutrition Camp, offering free screenings for BMI, blood pressure, and blood glucose levels, drawing a large and appreciative public response. The seminar was widely praised for its educational impact, community outreach, and successful academia-industry collaboration toward improving women???s health through nutrition.
