The Department of Nutritional Sciences, GCWUF, organized a warm and engaging Orientation Ceremony on Friday, October 24, 2025, to welcome the new batch of students. The event aimed to familiarize newcomers with the departments academic environment, faculty, and student societies while inspiring them to embark on their educational journey with enthusiasm and dedication. The ceremony began with the Recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by a soulful Naat, creating a spiritual and positive atmosphere. A detailed presentation was also delivered, highlighting the vision and mission of the Department, career opportunities in the field of Nutritional Sciences, and University rules and regulations to help students understand academic and administrative policies. Furthermore, faculty members were introduced, allowing students to connect with their mentors and understand the diverse expertise available within the department. The event then featured an inspiring welcome address by the Head of Department, Dr. Madiha Ilyas, who congratulated the new students and encouraged them to pursue academic excellence and active participation in departmental activities. She emphasized three key values ??? Discipline, Dedication, and Development ??? as guiding principles for success. Dr. Madiha highlighted that university life is a memorable and transformative phase, urging students to make the most of every day by learning consistently, enhancing their skills, and working on their overall personality development. She advised them to remain well-groomed, well-disciplined, and committed to personal and professional growth throughout their academic journey. Ms. Tanzeela, President of the Nutrition & Wellness Society (NWS), and Ms. Fatima Arshad, General Secretary (NWS), also shared the society???s vision, objectives, and upcoming plans for promoting nutrition awareness and student engagement. As a gesture of hospitality, welcome cards were distributed among the newly enrolled students, symbolizing warmth, unity, and encouragement to begin their journey at GCWUF with motivation and confidence. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving students inspired and excited to contribute actively to both academic and extracurricular endeavours within the Department of Nutritional Sciences.
