To commemorate World Environment Day on June 5, 2025, the Department of Botany at GCWUF, in collaboration with the Environmental Club and the Quality Enhancement Cell, organized an awareness walk on June 4, 2025 to support the objectives of Sustainable Development Goals 13 (Climate Action) and 15 (Life on Land). The walk commenced with great enthusiasm and positivity within the GCWUF premises, courtesy of the kind permission granted by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (TI). The event aimed to highlight the significance of environmental protection and promote sustainable practices among the campus community. Participants, including Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Dr. Sadia Asim (Registrar), Dr. Sumera Aslam (Controller of Examinations), Dr. Asma Aziz (Director of Student Affairs), Dr. Abida Kausar (Acting Chairperson of the Department of Botany), department in-charges, faculty members, and students, walked through various parts of the campus, holding placards with eco-friendly messages and raising slogans to emphasize the importance of nature conservation. The Vice Chancellor emphasized the significance of such initiatives, stating that celebrating World Environment Day educates and motivates individuals, especially youth, to adopt environmentally responsible behavior and encourages collective action toward building a greener and more sustainable future. She also appreciated the commitment of the organizing bodies and??participants.
